Located within walking distance of Washington’s version of Rodeo Drive, Chevy Place is ideal for those who want to visit our Nations’s Capital, but prefer a more residential, quiet space. It is just a few yards from the DC line, and close to high-end stores like Cartier, Tiffany, Ralph Lauren, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Brooks Brothers all within sight of each other. Geico’s headquarters and Microsoft East are also within a stone’s throw of the building.
The apartment itself is rather minimalist, but comfortable with everything you need during a short or longer stay. I debated whether to include a TV at all, since folks will enjoy fast and reliable internet service and nowadays most people prefer to watch streaming stuff on their tablets, laptops or phones anyway. But, sure enough, there is a 56 inch smart LED TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, CBS News, Sling TV and other services.
But if you prefer to stretch those legs and get off the couch, the Capital Crescent Trail is a short stroll from the building and that Trail is a perfect place to take long walks or jogs. Alternatively, you may take a few laps in our indoor pool (open all year long, neat!) or pump some iron in the gym (nothing to write home about, but it will give you a workout).
The kitchen and bathroom were recently renovated and modernized, with newer appliances, counters, floors, tiling, faucets, sinks and lighting. Oh, and there is also a washer and dryer for those staying for a fortnight or more (or even less if you need clean clothes).
The master bedroom is roomy and sunny, with a firm memory foam mattress. Nothing fancy, just a quiet, clean place to rest your head after a long day of work or touring the City. There is also a second bedroom with a smaller bed; ideal to bring your kid along, or a younger couple.
On warmer days, there’s nothing like having a hot cup of joe in the balcony while enjoying the breeze.
And did I mention that parking for one vehicle is included? This may not sound too impressive, until you find out how difficult it is to find street parking and how vicious those parking enforcement officers can be. So yes, your Ferrari or VW Beatle (we don’t discriminate) will have an underground spot while you stay.
